Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my pet?
Although The Briarwood does not allow residents/ patients to bring their pets to live with them, they are welcome to visit at any reasonable hour. We also have two four legged staff members, Lucy & Mayzie that work 9am-5pm every week day. Lucy is a Shih Tzu and Mayzie is a yellow lab. Both dogs have full run of the facility and are on an electric fence system that allows them to play outside but keeps them out of the dining rooms.

Can I bring a computer?
The Briarwood has been open since 1991, and it has kept up with the technological demands of today with a wireless internet system and a technologically-savvy Executive Director. You are welcome to bring your own computer/ printer/ scanner etc... If you do not want a loved one to bring a computer but you wish to email them you are welcome to direct your emails to Briar3700@aol.com who will print and deliver your message as long as it has your resident/ patient's name in the subject line.

The Briarwood is also working on designing a new webcam system that will allow visual and verbal communication instantly to anywhere in the world. Never before have people lived so far away from loved ones. The Briarwood wants family and friend communication to be simple and easily available to our residents in the future.
