The Briarwood Concept
The Briarwood Health Care Facility in Stow is Ohio's gem in Long Term Health Care. It is filled with caring compassionate people, who dedicated their lives to the physically demanding and emotionally challenging tasks of making another person's life better.
The Briarwood was opened in 1991 by Jonathan & Barbara Trimble. To them, the task of caring for others is an honor and a ministry, not a business. That is why their facility is ranked so highly among long term care providers. Even Senator Voinovich has visited the facility for one of the ceremonies recognizing The Briarwood for outstanding care and services.
Jon & Barbara believe each patient or resident living at The Briarwood has joined their family. The Trimble's three children have grown up being active at The Briarwood and know many of the residents by name. The children have dressed as elves at Christmas time to hand out gifts to each resident. On Thanksgiving the Trimble's provide transportation for the residents and patients so that they can be at home with their own family for the holiday. For those that can't go home, their families are invited to come and have dinner at The Briarwood. When Resident's Council indicated that they wanted a pet, maybe some exotic birds, Jon put on his tool belt and designed and built an incredible 4x7x7 bird aviary. Barbara works closely with the staff continuously trying new approaches to care and services. She is credited with the family appeal of the facility.
