Ancillary Services

Our activity program attempts to accommodate each individual's needs and choices for how he/she spends time both in and outside the facility. Social, spiritual, intellectual and cultural opportunities are offered to promote and enhance the well being of our residents.

Transportation is available twice a week for shopping, banking, or other personal needs. In addition, outings are scheduled weekly (weather permitting) to various points of interest.

The Briarwood has an active Resident Council that meets monthly to provide input in developing the activity calendar.

Dietary:
The Briarwood offers a food service program that provides nutritionally balanced meals with careful attention to the individual needs and preferences of our residents. A resident committee reviews and approves each of the seasonal menu cycles. Our Registered Dietitian reviews and monitors each resident's individual dietary needs and develops a meal plan accordingly. Every effort is made to meet the social, cultural and religious dietary needs of our residents. Residents select from a choice of entrees at each meal. Assisted living residents also enjoy a self serve salad bar during the noon meal.

All residents are encouraged to socialize and join their friends for meals in the dining room. However, for those who do not wish to go to the dining room, a tray service is available for a minimal fee.

Environmental Services:
The Briarwood provides the housekeeping and maintenance services necessary to maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment. Every attempt is made to accommodate personal belongings that may have special meaning to the resident.

Social Services:
As you consider alternative living options, the social service team at The Briarwood will provide you with a wealth of factual information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Licensed Nursing Care, and Licensed Rest Home services know as Assisted Living. The staff will help make the transition as smooth as possible.

Following admission, social services will be able to provide medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.
